I definitely recommend this story because it was really good to learn about Puerto Rico’s fauna which is animal life especially the animals characteristic of a region or a special environment like el Yunque. Which is the national rainforest of our island. The diverse fauna of the island is so beautiful I really liked Coco the Puerto Rican Parrot and the other characters. Another detail that really caught my attention was when Miss. Cancel our English teacher announced that the author was one of the characters and her sister as well, that was cool! We also had a quiz emphasizing figures of speech a really interesting topic.

What struck me the most about the story was that Coco sounded differently than the other parrots and that wasn’t accepted by the wild flock of parrots but then he showed his perserverance and succeded at last. We should give space to these Parrots and not destroy the trees because it is their habitat, they also need a home. Thanks to the different dialect Coco knew he was able to save the wild parrots and their habitat. It was really interesting the way the author used onomatopeia in the story applying parts of the figures of speech that my English teacher Mrs. Gladys Cancel is teaching us, moreover the use of different native fruits from Puerto Rico as the characters.
